Preliminary results of the autopsy performed today at MUSC on Mr. Bernice Junior Smith, III are pending histology and toxicology results.  No conclusive cause of death could be identified immediately.  As soon as the final autopsy report is received, those finding will be released.

Smith was unresponsive after he was apprehended by the Lexington County Sheriff Department during a warrant service on
shortly after 1:30 P.M. in Lexington County, Thursday.
