Lexington County Coroner releases names of the 2 who died in overnight shooting incident
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the two people who died as a result of a domestic incident/home invasion that took place shortly before 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, in the 100 block of Prismatic Way in Lexington.
Fisher states that Mr. Jamal A. Walker, of Columbia shot and killed his ex-wife Ms. Dominique Bolen Walker, 36, of Lexington during a home invasion at the home of Ms. Walker.
Ms. Walker was shot multiple times in the upper body and died of her injuries at the scene. Ms. Walker’s 9-year-old son was present at the time of the incident, but was not injured physically. Mr. Jamal Walker then fled the scene and was pursued by law enforcement and died at another location due to multiple gunshots to the body. Autopsies will be performed at the MUSC on Friday at 8:30 a.m.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, Lexington Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol as well as the Lexington County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate this incident.
