Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a two-vehicle accident in the 2500 block of Augusta Highway in the Lexington area of Lexington County on Saturday, at approximately 7:10 p.m.

According to Fisher, Mrs. Elaina Lynn Valencia, 39, of Batesburg was traveling southbound on Augusta Highway when, due to road conditions, her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a vehicle that was traveling northbound. Mrs. Valencia was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Mrs. Valencia’s vehicle was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were also transported to an area hospital for injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.
