Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who was killed at approximately 3 a.m.  on Sunday, Jan. 17.

Jovlyn Furtick, 33, of Ladson, was killed  in the 2800 block of Pine Street in Pelion.

Mr. Furtick was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the accident. An autopsy performed on Jan. 17, 2016, indicated that Mr. Furtick died from head trauma. The accident is being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Also: Fisher has identified Jerrid William Green, 26, of Pelion as the individual who was killed at approximately 5:45 a.m. Sunday, January 18. Mr. Green  was killed in the 200 block of Harvey Berry Road in Pelion. Mr. Green, who was driving the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the accident. An autopsy performed on Jan. 18, indicated that Mr. Green died from head trauma.

A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.The accident is being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol
