Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident in the 100 block of Stone Road in the Batesburg area of Lexington County on Saturday, at approximately 11:05 p.m.

According to Fisher, Mr. Eduardo Yair Aguirre, 19, of Batesburg was the passenger in a vehicle traveling southbound on Stone Road when the vehicle left the road and struck several trees. Mr. Aguirre, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
