Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident in the 2800 block of Calks Ferry Road in Lexington. Thursday, at approximately 9:15 PM.

According to Fisher, Mr. Byron Paul Gunter, 37, of Lexington, was traveling eastbound on Calks Ferry Road, left the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree. Mr. Gunter, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate
the incident.
