
Lexington County Coroner identifies man who died in moped crash on S. Lake Drive
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-moped accident in the 2400 Block of South Lake Dr. in the Lexington area of Lexington County on May 21, at approximately 9:45 a.m.
According to Fisher, Mr. Michael Bailey Vines, 69, of Lexington, was traveling westbound on South Lake Dr. when he left the right side of the road and was ejected off of the moped. Mr. Vines, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
