
Lexington County Coroner identifies man who died after being hit on I-26 early Monday morning
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at the 105 mile-marker westbound of I-26 in the Columbia area of Lexington County on Monday, Sept. 7, at approximately 4:10 a.m.
According to Fisher, Mr. Robert Edward Dove, 42, of Easley, was walking on
I-26 when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. Mr. Dove was pronounced dead on scene due
to the injuries sustained in the collision. The driver of the vehicle that struck Mr. Dove remained on scene and was not injured.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
