Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the person killed in a vehicle vs. motorcycle accident that occurred Thursday at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Highway 6 at Mimosa Drive in Gaston.

According to Fisher, Mr. Christopher Scott Ledbetter, 39, of Gaston was operating a dirt bike with no lights  when he failed to yield right-of way and was struck by a truck travelling east on Hwy 6.  Mr. Ledbetter was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries shortly after arrival.  The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene and released.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
