Lexington County Coroner identifies man in 2 a.m. Lake Murray death

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a suspected accidental drowning.
The incident took place in Lake Murray Sunday.
Austin Carson, 23 (age has been corrected)  of Lexington was swimming with a friend near the Lake Murray dam when he began struggling to stay afloat. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m.
Carson’s body was recovered a short time later.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday. The incident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
