Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a single-vehicle accident in the 400 block of Wagner Highway in the Leesville area of Lexington County on Monday at approximately 7:12 a.m.

According to Fisher, Mr. Jose Eduardo Sanchez Franco , 24, of Wagner was traveling southbound on Wagner Highway when he left the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch, utility pole, and tree. Mr. Sanchez Franco attempted to exit the vehicle before it came to a stop and was subsequently run over by the trailer attached to the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained. The passenger in the vehicle was uninjured.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to investigate the incident.
