Lexington 2 students required to wear masks on school busses

Effective Monday, August 30, any Lexington Two student or staff member riding a school bus will be required to wear a face mask.

While the SC Department of Education had stopped enforcing the federal mask requirement over the summer, today’s increasing levels of the highly transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19 in local communities — including in Lexington Two schools — has prompted the need for more protective measures on buses, to help mitigate virus transmission and keep our schools open and operating as safely as possible.

The SC Department of Education will equip all state-owned school buses with an adequate supply of face coverings/masks that meet requirements of the federal CDC order. If a student boards a bus without a face covering, bus drivers will offer the student a face covering. However, no student will be denied transportation for failing to adhere to the CDC Order.

The latest district information on COVID-19 is posted at Lex2.0.
