Lexington 2 Schools enrollment is stable

The enrollment numbers for the 2016-17 School Year are “stable” in Lexington 2 Schools according to

Marcella Heyward-Evans – the district’s chief instructional officer. The Lexington 2 School Board held a special meeting Thursday where enrollment numbers for the district’s 16 schools were announced.

The total number of students enrolled in Lexington 2 schools on Aug. 4 was 8,962. But Evans said that number is expected to fluctuate before Aug. 18, the first day of school for students. Teachers return to their classrooms on (Thurs.) Aug. 11.
Evans said classes at various schools are being monitored to in order to determine if personnel will be adjusted to make sure student-teacher ratios are kept at the proper level.
