Lexington 2 District Office issues statement on Shane Thackston’s passing

shaneShane Thackston was an amazing friend and colleague, as well as an outstanding educator who had a great relationship with students and staff. He knew how to mentor young children, and always had the best interest of the students at the peak of his decision making.

Shane had an upbeat attitude and dedication to being an educator and was proactive with his ideas for improving programs for students. He always stepped up and followed through to make connections that would make the school and district community better.

Shane served Lexington School District Two as a teacher, Administrative Assistant, Assistant Principal, and Principal.   He also trained Lexington Two staff members in CPI and the Terry Alderman Classroom Management Program.

Everyone who knew and had the pleasure of working with Shane appreciate the passion and love for student success that he stood for. He was an amazing person who loved his family, his friends, and his Lexington District Two family. Shane has left a positive imprint on the Lexington District Two family that will enrich the lives of students for years to come.

He will be deeply missed.
