Alford-Wooten was presented a service pin and certificate at Lexington Two’s January 16, board meeting, as part of National School Board Recognition Month.

Alford-Wooten has served in a number of leadership roles during her years on the Lexington Two school board, and she is currently the board’s vice chair. She was also recently appointed to the South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust board.

This year, 28 of the state’s approximately 622 school district and affiliate board members will receive service pins for reaching the 10- or 15-year benchmark, according to SCSBA, with nearly 50 percent of the state’s school district and affiliate board members having served four years or less.

“Serving our Lexington Two students, families, employees, and community these past 15 years has been an honor and a privilege,” Alford-Wooten said. “It’s an exciting time to be on the Lexington Two board, with so many great opportunities, programs, and resources for our students.”
