Less than an inch of rain forecast for Thursday, tropical storm conditions possible

The National Weather Service – Columbia’s latest forecast is calling for rain Thursday as Hurricane Dorian passes off the coast of South Carolina. Rain should end by midnight. The forecast for Friday is for sun and a high of 92.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 91. Northeast wind 6 to 11 mph.

Wednesday Tonight A slight chance of showers between 11pm and 2am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. Northeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 10 am and 1 pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 pm. Cloudy, with a high near 83. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
