The Leaphart Road Bridge, over I-26, in West Columbia was open to traffic Thursday morning.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation issued a release announcing the closing of the bridge, Wednesday, but the reopening has not yet been officially announced.

The bridge was closed after it was struck and damaged by a vehicle, traveling on I-26, Wednesday. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes.

According to a South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) press release SCDOT Engineers were evaluating the damage.
