The National Weather Service reported just before midnight, Tuesday , that the track of Hurricane Florence has shifted slightly southwest. The track now shows a pattern moving inland in northern South Carolina.

According to the NWS, the regions with the highest threat for a significant impact are the Pee Dee, and the northern Midlands area (north of I-20.) There is also an increasing threat to the remainder of the Midlands if the track continues to shift southward. The storm, said the NWS, has slowed down, and could get stronger.

There is the possibility for changes in the track and intensity.

The NWS also reported that there is potential for isolated tornadoes along and to the right of the storm, generally north of I-20 and east of I-77. Rainfall is predicted to be approximately two-to-four inches in the Midlands, with localized amounts of up to six inches near the North Carolina/South Carolina border.
