Last Honor Flight returns to Columbia Metropolitan Airport
Hundreds of people gathered to welcome home World War II and Koran War veterans at Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Wednesday night.
The non-profit Honor Flight came back from Washington DC. Veterans, mostly from WWII and Korea, visited monuments and historic sites in Washington. Those waiting for the veterans to return, shook hands and cheered as the former soldiers filed into the airport terminal. With the dwindling number of living WWII veterans, Wednesday’s Honor Flight was announced as the last one.
