Langley Pointe Apartments and development of Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, offering a residential option with amenities
In the last year a new high-profile apartment complex has been built in West Columbia. Langley Pointe is off of Sunset Boulevard, about a mile past Lexington Medical Center. The Langley Pointe Grand Opening is Wednesday at 4 p.m. The new apartment complex represents a huge investment in the local community.

“We are a luxury residential option for the West Columbia housing market,” said Eve Garcia, Community Manager for Langley Pointe.
“There are 312, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units. We offer 9 different floor plans.” The apartments feature granite countertops, tile backsplashes, 9-ft. ceilings, sunrooms, and wood grain flooring. Other amenities include trey ceilings, crown molding, soaking tubs, patios, balconies, and walk-in closets. It’s a controlled-access community with a pool and sunning deck with an outdoor kitchen. There is also a fire pit, fitness center, billiards room, pet spa, and bark park. There is a lot of green space, garages, and EV charging stations.”
Langley Pointe Apartments began leasing more than a year ago. Currently its occupancy rate is 62 percent and growing daily. Construction on the $60 million apartment complex was completed in mid-February, Eve said. The completion of the complex coincided with the installation of a traffic light at Henbet Drive and Sunset Boulevard.

“The new traffic light has slowed traffic and enhanced the ‘ease-of-access’ for Langley Pointe,” Eve said. The City of West Columbia has also extended wastewater lines, with the installation of a lift station along the Sunset Boulevard Corridor. The addition of infrastructure increases the probability for development. Retail and commercial space are also planned for the 38-acre Langley Pointe property.
West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles is impressed with Langley Pointe. “The City of West Columbia actively works to attract development across our city possible,” said Miles. “Langley Pointe is an example that development is continuing to increase in all parts of West Columbia. Our efforts are producing results and that’s satisfying.”
He also said: “Langley Pointe is a very nice residential option, especially for folks working in the area around Lexington Medical Center.”
Eve said Langley Pointe is attracting residents from all walks of life.

“We have people who are downsizing from houses,” she said. “We have personnel from Lexington Medical Center and residents who need quick access to Interstate 20 and Interstate 26 to go to Charleston or Charlotte. We’re also 10 minutes from Downtown Columbia and 10 minutes from Lexington. The location is great.”
Not only does the community support Langley Pointe, the staff at Langley Pointe promotes West Columbia activities including Kinetic Derby Day, Art on State, the C-WC Chamber’s Rabbit Run and the Meeting Street Music Festival. Langley Pointe also contributes to the LMC Foundation and other charitable causes.
More people are moving to West Columbia. With the increased interest, more housing options are becoming available. Langley Pointe is a good example of the diversity available to potential residents.
