Mayor Tem Miles explains the award below:
Miles writes: City of West Columbia, SC is filled with great employees, and Kyle Ramsey is one of the best. He is the first winner of the WECO Strong Award. In case you can’t tell from the picture, he is also quite fond of the Steelers. WECO Strong is a recognition given by the City Administrator to a West Columbia employee who actively demonstrates kindness and support to fellow co-workers/team members and contributes to the strength of the West Columbia family.
A person who is WECO Strong exemplifies the ability to guide, motivate, strengthen, and help fellow team members. A person who is WECO Strong sees the opportunities to show kindness, to encourage, to support, and to inspire others and takes those opportunities to make a difference and strengthen others. Each WECO Strong recipient receives a token of appreciation and either a magnetic decal for the City vehicle or an office sign to be displayed in the workplace. Supervisors can nominate an employee for the WECO Strong recognition award at any time throughout the year by contacting the city administrator.
The magnetic decal and office sign will be moved between recipients so that the current WECO Strong recipient can always be recognized. Our first WECO Strong recipient is Kyle Ramsey, Sanitation Department. Congratulations, Kyle!
