Kevin Heise is the new Athletic Director at Gray Collegiate Academy in West Columbia. DeAngelo Bryant is the new head football coach.

Heise has been at Gray for 7 years as boys soccer coach. He coached at Brookland-Cayce High School from 1991 until 2016. He has 555 high school soccer wins. Heise will remain as War Eagle’s boys soccer coach. He is one of the winningest coaches in the state and has led the Gray to two state championship appearances. Heise is married to Gray Girls Soccer Coach Emily Heise.

De’Angelo Bryant has moved from head football coach at Silver Bluff High School to become the War Eagles new head football coach.

Bryant replaces Adam Holmes, who resigned in December. Holmes led Gray to two championship finals. The War Eagles won a state title and was runner-up in 2023. Holmes was also the Gray athletic director.

Bryant, a Silver Bluff graduate, had been at Silver Bluff since 2018. He was player on the school’s state championship teams 23 years ago. He played football in college at Wake Forest University. Bryant, left, and Heise.
