There is a lot of land being cleared at the intersection of 12th Street Extension and I-77 in Cayce. But there is not much being said about why.

“SCANA is clearing and preparing the land at the intersection of I-77 and 12th Street Extension for future development,” said Ginny Jones a SCANA senior public affairs specialist. “Because we don’t comment on real estate transactions, we don’t have any further details to share at this time.”

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin also said on Tuesday, there is nothing, in the way of a deal, to report as much as it is related to the City of Cayce.
But there is a hint.

EB Development is boasting a mall at the site called: Columbia Capital Outlets. Word of the outlet mall surfaced last year, but not much has been said about it until work began at the site recently.

So until more develops, the development is unofficial. But the heavy equipment is onsite moving dirt in preparation for something.
