Irmo Fire District units were on the scene of a vehicle accident on Piney Grove Road, just off of I-26, Saturday. The collision involved injuries and several suspects fled from one of the vehicles. Two lanes were closed while emergency personnel tended to the victims and law enforcement investigated the hit and run.

Traffic was heavily impacted, please avoid the area until the accident scene was cleared and the road was opened around 2:45 p.m.
