Irmo Fire units responded to a structure fire Monday morning in the 500 block of Coldstream Drive.
The fire was contained to the garage with minor damage to the house due to quick work by Irmo firefighters with help from Lexington County Fire Service and Columbia Fire Department crews. Smoke alarms alerted residents to the fire and they were able to exit the house with the family dog. There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
Coldstream Drive was blocked by fire trucks at Brittany Way as the fire was fought.
