Irmo Fire Department units were dispatched to Woodland Village for an apartment fire Thursday afternoon. The apartments are on Bush River Road.

Upon arrival, heavy smoke and fire were visible and coming from the rear of the apartment building. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes with help from Columbia Fire Department, Lexington County Fire Service, and West Columbia Fire Department.

A total of 4 units were damaged, displacing 8 adults and children. The Red Cross is assisting those families at this time. (Photos by Irmo Fire District)
