According to an Irmo Fire District post, “The outpouring of support is palpable in the air and is a testament to the brotherhood of the fire service. Words will never suffice to capture the intense sadness of this day nor the grief in our hearts. It is our hope that Firefighter Muller be remembered for his unending love for his family, endless passion for the job, dedication to training and getting better every day, and a life lived in a constant state of selflessness.”

Surviving Muller are a wife, his son, and his parents and a sister.

Just after Muller’s death, the Irmo Fire District posted: “Muller, 25, has been a member of the Irmo Fire District for seven years. He was a highly respected firefighter that had a love and passion for the job. Firefighter Muller will be greatly missed amongst his firefighting family. (IFD) Chief (Mike) Sonefeld and the fire district appreciate the outpouring of your thoughts and prayers during this tragic and difficult time.” (Irmo Fire District photos.)
