Irmo Fire District crews and the Columbia Fire Department worked to contain a 2-Alarm fire that broke out at Tropical Ridge Apartments off of Stoneridge Drive Friday night.

Crews responded shortly after 10 p.m. to reports of an apartment fire and immediately called for a 2nd Alarm to the scene as fire was working through much of the roof of one building.

The fire was eventually brought under control. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
The Red Cross was called to the scene and was assisting tenants of the building who were left displaced. No injuries were reported.
