Irmo Fire crew works to free driver who was trapped in the vehicle after crashing

Irmo Fire crews were busy, Thursday afternoon, responding to vehicle crashes. The first incident was in the 1500 block of Fork Avenue. A single vehicle left the road and ended up on its side in a ditch, trapping the driver inside.

There were minor Injuries treated by a Lexington County EMS, after fire department personnel worked to remove the driver from the vehicle. The road was closed for a while

Irmo Fire crews also responded to a wreck on North Lake Drive at East Passage briefly. There were no injuries in the incident.
Without seatbelts and airbags the injuries could have been worse, according to the Irmo Fire report. (IFD photos)
