Information about Corley Mill Road Bridge replacement, public comment accepted until Aug. 28

The SC Department of Transportation hosted a public meeting on Aug. 13, to inform Lexington County residents about a proposed bridge replacement project on Corley Mill Road over Twelve Mile Creek.

The new bridge will accommodate two 12-foot travel lanes, two 8-foot shoulders, and a variable-width median. The project also includes extending the existing dedicated left-turn lane at the entrance to River Bluff High School to improve access and traffic operations.

Construction is expected to begin in 2028 and will take place in phases over approximately 9-12 months. The new bridge will be built just north of the existing bridge, allowing traffic to continue through the area during construction.

SCDOT welcomes public comment on this project through August 28, 2026.
