House of Raeford Beyond Goals Soccer Tournament held for Riverbank Elementary School students, Thursday

The House of Raeford Beyond Goals Soccer Tournament took place across from Riverbank Elementary School, Thursday afternoon. Beyond Goals is a mentorship program instilling perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship to elementary school students.

The program is headed by Riverbank School Resource Officer India Taylor of the West Columbia Police Department.

There was a DJ playing music for parents and fans who attended and DJ and the Kona Ice drew lots of visitors.

For many of the participants, transportation was a challenge. So West Columbia’s House of Raeford’’ charitable arm FLOCK, which supports a number of Lexington Two student initiatives, came in to help.

FLOCK, directed by House of Raeford’s Chuck Underhill, paid for bus transportation for student participants. FLOCK has also provided stipends for teachers who work and coach with the program. Brookland-Cayce High School students volunteered as mentors.
