Holiday Festivities Begin in West Columbia with Carraway Park Reopening and Santa’s Mailbox

Carraway Park at the Riverwalk has reopened after completing important repairs, and the City of West Columbia is excited to announce the return of Santa’s Mailbox! Located in Carraway Park at 212 Hudson Street, West Columbia, children can drop off their letters to Santa from now through December 24, 2024. For added convenience, postcards are available at the Santa Post Office inside the park.

Important Dates and Details for Santa’s Mailbox

Santa will be responding to letters received between November 4 and December 16, 2024, ensuring that replies arrive before Christmas. Letters dropped off after December 16 may not receive a response by Christmas Day, but all letters received by December 24 will be delivered to Santa. Parents are encouraged to assist younger children in making their writing legible. All letters with a return address will receive a letter from Santa. Additional information can be found at www.westcolumbiasc.gov/santasmailbox.

Santa has a special holiday treat planned! He will select two letters submitted by November 29 to be read by Mrs. Claus at the 20th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6, 2024, at 6:30 PM, on the City Hall Lawn, located at 200 N. 12th Street, West Columbia. To ensure a response, please include the child’s name, age, and return address.

20th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

The City of West Columbia invites everyone to the 20th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 6:30 PM on the City Hall Lawn. The celebration will feature holiday carols, warm greetings, and the lighting of the City’s Christmas tree.
