The accident happened just after 5 a.m. on Westwood Drive, according to Cpl. Sonny Collins of the S.C. Highway Patrol. The collision resulted in a person being struck and killed by a car that fled the scene after the incident.

The Highway Patrol’s MAIT team was putting together a report on the crash. Collins said a description on the vehicle involved would be released when possible.
