Guide to the Meeting Street Music Fest, Saturday, Sept. 16, in West Columbia – Added features, including the Gamecocks on big screen TVs
It’s a big event and there will be some added features to Saturday’s Meeting Street Music Fest.
The City of West Columbia’s first-ever Meeting Street Music Fest, on the 500 – 700 Blocks of Meeting Street, West Columbia on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 4 – 8 p.m.
This highly anticipated event will showcase an incredible lineup of multiple genres of music, including nationally and regionally renowned artists on multiple stages throughout the River District on Meeting and State Streets.
The City of West Columbia is sponsoring the celebration of music, featuring six bands, nine food trucks, and available beverages. The music fest is free, with free parking and a trolley service from several free parking spots.
There are also some other features that are being implemented for the Meeting Street Music Fest.
“We’ll have a cooling tent set up in the parking lot of Chayz Lounge 607 Meeting Street,” said Anna Huffman, City of West Columbia Public Relations Director.
In the cooling tent, there will be a 75-inch TVs, said Festival Volunteer Steve Cohen, who is managing the Sunset Stage, 500 Meeting St. at and Shuler Street. There will be another 75-inch TV ay Chayz Lounge.
“The South Carolina-Georgia game starts at 3:30, the festival begins at 4 p.m.,” he said. “With the TVs there, with the game on, you can check in on the Gamecocks while you enjoy the great music.”
Restroom trailers will also be on-site of the Meeting Street Music Fest.
Who is playing and where?
On the main stage, prepare to be captivated by the soulful sounds of The Reggie Sullivan Band, and Turnstiles – The Ultimate Tribute to the Music of Billy Joel.
Also, national R&B recording artist, Meli’sa Morgan, will be playing.
