Gray Collgiate introduces Kevin, Emily Heise as new soccer coaches

Kevin and Emily Heise introduced as new Gray Collegiate coaches.

Kevin Heise was formally introduced as the boys soccer coach at Gray Collegiate Academy on Tuesday. Emily, Brookland-Cayce’s current head coach Emily was named GCA’s girls soccer coach.

Kevin is the former Brookland-Cayce High School soccer coach. Emily’s Brookland-Cayce Girls team won the Lower State Championship over Bishop England Monday. Her BC team will play Indian Land on Saturday at Irmo High School for the State Championship. Emily Heise’s team also won the Region 5-3A title this year.

“I want to continue the tradition,” Kevin Heise said at the Tuesday morning news conference. He is Brookland-Cayce’s winningest coach.
Dr. Brian Newsome, Gray’s principal, said Heise cares for his players. He also said Heise will teach social studies.

Emily Heise said she is anticipating her move to Gray.
“I can’t wait to get started,” she said.

Many Gray board members and students were on hand for the announcement at the West Columbia school’s Leaphart Road campus.
