Jensen Castle was a two-time State Champion when she was a student at Gray Collegiate in West Columbia.

Sunday, the University of Kentucky rising junior won the US Women’s Amateur Championship at Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY.

Castle entered the tournament ranked 248th in the women’s World Amateur Golf Rankings. She was rated 63rd in the 64-player field for the US Women’s Amateur championship.

Castle defeated former world amateur No. 1 ranked Yu-Chiang (Vivian) Hou from the University of Arizona in the 36-hole final to win the championship.
