In a 4A State Championship Softball game that started Tuesday and had to be finished up, Wednesday, Gray fell to York 2-1. The final inning of the game was postponed because of heavy rain.

But 30 minutes after the first game ended, the second game started and the War Eagles defeated York 4-0 to tie the best-of-three series at one game apiece. Peyton Hendrix pitched the shutout.

The third and final game will be played at Gray in West Columbia at 7 p.m. Friday.
