“Now we have everything we need to be successful,” said Gray Athletic Director and Football Coach Adam Holmes.

He said he used to have to bus his team to other parts of Lexington County to weight train, but now the War Eagles have their own facility.

Principal Brian Newsome said the West Columbia public charter high school school is growing and expanding. He said Gray started with 400 students and now it has 671 students. Gray has added an 8th-grade class, too.

Newsome said the weight room is Phase 1 and the school is planning a new gymnasium, a cafeteria and a football stadium, with baseball and softball fields. (Photos below by David Abernathy)
