West Columbia’s Gray Collegiate Academy (GCA), a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K–12, has earned an overall rating of Excellent for both its middle and high school programs on the 2026 South Carolina School Report Card, released by the South Carolina Department of Education.

GCA is one of only three Charter Institute at Erskine schools that serves multiple grade bands to earn an Excellent rating across every grade level served. While these report card results reflect performance prior to the August 2026 opening of the elementary campus, GCA is already expanding this proven culture of academic excellence to a full K–12 model with the opening of their K-5 campus in Northeast Columbia this year.

Gray Collegiate Academy also posted a 100% graduation rate, standing out as one of just three Institute high schools to achieve a perfect rate. Both the middle and high school programs earned Excellent ratings for school climate, while the middle school also achieved an Excellent rating for student growth.

Gray Collegiate Academy has held an “Excellent” rating on the South Carolina State Report Card for six consecutive years for its high school and four consecutive years for its middle school.
