Governor says crowds of 3 or more can be dispersed

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order Monday against the gathering of three or more depending on the situation.
Law enforcement is entitled to disperse groups of three or more under the order.

The order was issued to stop people from congregating and transmitting the coronavirus.

“This weekend, we saw large crowds gathered on beaches, on sandbars, and in parking lots. We are facing a dangerous and deadly enemy and this type of behavior is both irresponsible and selfish,”said McMaster.

He said crowds of people together pose a risk to the public’s safety.
The order does not apply to private businesses and it is not a shelter-in-place order.
