Gov. Henry McMaster at Lexington Medical Center Monday to encourage more COVID shots
Governor Henry McMaster his toured Lexington Medical Center’s vaccination clinic in West Columbia Monday afternoon. He’s to wants the COVID-19 vaccination rate to increase.
“We’ve got to speed it up, we know how to speed it up, and we will speed it up,” McMaster said. There are more than 200,000 vaccine appointments on the books right now
Jolene Gillis (in photo) a Lexington School District Two speech therapist, has received her first vaccination at Lexington Medical Center. The second dose is to be administered three weeks later. LMC is administering 600 doses a day.
Last week there were 23 positive cases of COVID among Lexington Two students and six staff cases, according to DHEC. There are 8,500 students in the district.
Lexington School District Two is scheduled to return to 5-day, in-person classes Tuesday.
