TRAFFIC FATALITY

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who was killed in the two-vehicle accident at approximately 9:40 AM on Wednesday, June 15,, in the westbound lane of I-20 near mile marker 40 in Lexington,, as Skylar Blankenbeckler, age 19, of Grovetown, Georgia.
Ms. Blankenbeckler was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries she sustained in the accident. An autopsy will be performed on Thursday, June 16.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
