Have you driven by George I. Pair Elementary School lately? From the front, it’s difficult to notice, but the school is being torn down.

Demolition of George I. Pair has started in the back of the Lexington Two School at 2325 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia. According to Public School Review, George I. Pair closed in 2012. It housed Lexington Two’s Adult Ed. program after that. Link to Public School Review

The demolition of Pineview Elementary and Taylor Elementary has been completed. There is a new Cayce Elementary and a new Riverbanks Elementary to take the place of the schools that were torn down. Saluda River and Springdale Elementary were refurbished with the funds from a bond referendum that was passed in 2014.
