The Gaston Dixie Youth Coach Pitch All Stars won the state title in Anderson over the weekend. The Division Two baseball team for ages 7-9-years-old is next headed to the World Series in Dothan, Alabama. The World Series begins July 28. The team will have a Send-Off Celebration at 7 p.m., July 26 at the Gaston Ball Field.

To finance the trip to the World Series the kids are holding fundraisers. The next one is Wednesday (July 20) at Zesto of West Columbia, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. And there will be another fundraiser on Saturday, July 23 at Walmart in Red Bank from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There was also a fundraiser on Monday at Maurice’s BBQ.
