From Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center to Lexington County Recreation – A Plethora of Summer Camp Opportunities in West Columbia

The school year is ending and that means parents may be looking for activities for their children when they are on summer vacation. There are many camps that are going on in the West Columbia community. Below, some of the summer camp opportunities are listed.

Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center Free Summer Camp

Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center – BLEC is offering a FREE summer camp June 9 – July 18, from 8 AM – 4 PM. Students from these schools are eligible to attend.  Northside Middle School East Point Academy Middle Campus Rising 6th Graders from Riverbank Elementary SchoolSaluda River Academy for the Arts, and East Point Academy Elementary

Gray Collegiate Academy Summer Camps

Gray Collegiate Academy offers summer youth camps focused on various sports, including competitive cheer. The camps are part of the West Columbia school’s athletic program. Gray Summer Camps also include varsity sports like boys football, coed cross country, and dance. Gray Collegiate Academy’s athletic program is detailed on their website.

East Point Academy Summer Camps

West Columbia’s East Point Academy is offering summer camp opportunities. EPA camps include: Art Studio; Archery; Basketball; New Panda Mandarin Camp; 3D Printing and STEM Camp; Math; Ballet; and Dance. Click here for a link to East Point Academy’s Summer Camp page 

Lexington Two Lexington School District offers summer camps in fine arts, baseball, softball, football, and cheer.

The Lexington Two School District invite your kids to spend some of their summer days learning new skills and connecting with other area youth at one of our Lexington Two summer camps.   You do not have to be a Lexington Two student to participate. JUNE CAMPS

Airport Youth Baseball Summer Camp: Learn from some of the best in district and region play this year! For ages 6-12. 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 2-5 at Airport High School baseball field. $100 cash or check payable to Airport Baseball. Click this link to register.

Airport Volleyball and Softball Summer Camp: Two sports, one camp, led by Airport High School volleyball head coach Jessica Metts and softball head coach Anna Parker. 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 2-5 at Airport High School. $100. Click this link to register.

Brookland-Cayce Youth Baseball Camp: Some of the area’s best will be teaching the skills to compete. For ages 6-13, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 9-11 on the Brookland-Cayce High School baseball field and in the indoor turf room. $74.50 (includes GoFan fee). Click this link to register.

Bearcat Youth Softball Camp: All skill levels welcome. For ages 6 and up. 5-7 p.m. June 13 at Brookland-Cayce High School. $25, includes shirt. Click this link to register ; deadline to register is June 1.

L2PAC Fine Arts Summer Camp: Music, visual arts, dance and theatre sessions are on tap. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 9-19 at the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center, 3205 Platt Springs Road. $150, includes lunch and snack each day. Lexington Two families will receive a fee to pay through Parent Portal once registration is complete, and families who do not attend Lexington Two schools may pay via check, card or cash by June 9 in person at the main district office, 3205 Platt Springs Road.  To register, email [email protected]. JULY CAMPS

Christmas in July Bearkitten Camp: Get into the spirit with games, fun, and cheer, courtesy of the Brookland-Cayce High School varsity cheerleaders.  This year, two Brookland-Cayce High School varsity cheer mascots will be selected from among campers! For rising pre-kindergarten to rising 6th graders. 9 a.m.-12 p.m. July 9-11 at the Brookland-Cayce arena. $79.75 pre-registration (includes GoFan fee), $10 increase for registration the week of, includes snack, t-shirt, and a photo with Santa.  Click this link to register; pay at https://gofan.co/event/3599150?schoolId=SC286.

Airport Little Girls Cheer Clinic: Bring your energy and enthusiasm to this cheer camp for rising kindergarten through 6th-graders.  9 a.m.-12 p.m. July 15-17 at Airport High School. $85 cash or check. Click this link to register.

Brookland-Cayce Youth Football Camp: A great camp to build on basic skills. For ages 11 and under. 5-7 p.m. July 29-30 at Brookland-Cayce High School. $32.50 (includes GoFan fee). Click here to register.

Cayce-West Columbia Branch Library Summer Reading 2025

The Bright Benefits of Summer Reading. Avoid the “summer slide” — Kids can lose up to two months of progress over summer break without regular reading. Reading over the summer helps kids keep their skills sharp so they’re ready for school in the fall.

Color Our World is the theme of the at Lexington County Library Summer Reading Program. Enjoy a vibrant celebration of stories, creativity and fun with exciting activities, delicious treats and a bright world of full-color possibilities. Make this summer the most colorful one yet.
