Football coach and athletic director Andre Cook is leaving Airport High School

Football and athletic director coach Andre Cook is leaving Airport High School after one season. Mauldin High School confirmed the hiring of head coach Andre Cook to the head coaching position Monday.

In a Tweet, Airport Principal Matt Airport principal Matt Schilit noted the change.

“Airport High will soon be looking for our next Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. The position will be posted on the Lex 2 site. I look forward to meeting some game changing leaders. @AHS_Leads is a special place to be. Go Eagles!! #ProudPrincipal,” Schlitt posted.

Cook will replace Sayre Nesmith at Mauldin. Mauldin is a Class 5A program located in the Greenville School District. Airport is in class 4A.

Cook went 2-8 in his only season at Airport. It was his first head coaching job.
