Flood advisory Friday for Riverwalk in Cayce, West Columbia

Because of the expected rise of the Congaree River, the NWS continued, Friday, the Flood Advisory for the Cayce and West Columbia Riverwalks.

The Congaree River in Columbia was expected to briefly drop below 10 feet, Friday, but then quickly rise again, according to the National Weather Service in Columbia. The water level of the river early Monday morning was 15.3 feet. The rain stopped Saturday. The NWS says our next round of rainfall should arrive Thursday and Friday. Until then, expect the next few days of sunny and warmer weather

According to the NWS, the Congaree River in Columbia was at 17.13 last Monday. Minor flood stage of the river in Columbia is 19 feet, according to the NWS’s graphic.
