Lexington County Fire Services and EMS units responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Tannery Drive just before 3 p.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming the roof of the single-family home. Firefighters immediately went to work making sure there was no one inside of the home and began extinguishing the fire.

Although there were no injuries, the home was determined to be a total loss and has displaced a family of five. American Red Cross will be assisting the family.A cause and origin investigation is underway.
