The southern section of West Columbia’s Riverwalk had been closed since it was damaged in the flood of October 2015. That section has re-opened.

At the West Columbia City Council meeting, Tuesday, Tara Greenwood, the city’s director of grants, said the work to repair the damaged portion of Riverwalk will re-open early Wednesday morning. With the re-opening, all of Riverwalk, from the Moffatt Street entrance, all the way to Phase II of the Cayce Riverwalk is open. Greenwood said Phase II of the Cayce Riverwalk, that was also severely damaged by flooding, could re-open by the end of the year.
