Fatal accident blocks US 1 at Jarvis Klapman Blvd, West Columbia
Eastbound Lanes at Highway 1 and Jarvis Klapman Blvd Closed Due to Accident.
There was a fatality. The collision involved a motorcycle and a truck, according to Capt. Scott Morrison of the West Columbia Police Department.
The West Columbia Police Department has closed the Eastbound lanes of Highway 1 and Jarvis Klapman Boulevard due to a traffic accident. West bound lanes remain open. Highway Patrol has been notified and are en route. Please avoid the area if possible.

“Motorcycle accident corner of Hwy 1 and Leaphart Road. Motorcycle went by us on the left at the first light and second he drove right through red light and ran head on with a box truck. We made it to the second light and as we were going through it caught fire,” the post states.
